Chola Kitchen @Bukit Tinggi Klang

Last weekend we went to Klang for lunch, Recommended by one of my friend,. We went to Chola Kitchen at Bandar botanic(opposite Jusco) First Impression? It looked like a bar! But inside is cool comfortable & pleasant ambiance.
Premium looking restaurant!

Here, we had Chicken Biryani(RM11.90) & Mix Biryani(mutton & chicken) (RM14.90). The price is about average, more to premium. Taste wasnt bad! The portion is abit small compared to "THALAPPAKATTI" coz they serve gigantic chicken leg! Here its just adequate!

Mix Biryani (Mutton & Chicken) @RM14.90

Nice lighting / artwork & ambient
Chapati Set with papaya pickle & some curry.
Overall the food here is not bad at all, just that i feel that the rice alittle dry, Food quality is good, chicken is marinated well. but i wish their serving will be more generous!

Restaurant: Chola Kitchen,Taman Botanic Klang
Service: Average
Taste: Good
Total Damage: RM50+

Langkawi Trip 2011 (Day 2)

Waking up late on the day 2 and we actually had a plan already. We arranged for island hopping the previous day with some boat rentals found in Chenang Beach. It was a very good OFFER! indeed very CHEAP! only RM25 per person for 4hours island hopping. Isn't its worth it! This is a must-do activity here in LANGKAWI!

We started our tour at 2pm, with a lousy van came picking us up at the hotel. There wasnt anyone else except for us in the van. Drop off point is near to Awana Langkawi, not so sure exactly the name of this place.

The Team Ji Club all geared up!
After reaching this place somewhere near awana, there's a jetty point nearby where you will wait for your boat to arrive

The jetty point for island hopping

Our team! Got gaya leyy

The team posing posing

Life jacket is a must other wise u will be thrown into the sea!

This boat was freakin fast ! we was on a race with them

Can you spot why PULAU DAYANG BUNTING are called so?
Our first stop is Pulau Dayang Bunting, we were dropped for 1 hour at this island, you will have to hike long stair till you reach the middle of the island. At the middle there lies a magnificent beautiful fresh water lake! I highly recommend this tour , as the place is really really breathtaking!
The entrance walkway

Some chicks were with us on the boat

What we do the best: pose!

The team..

Notice the signage?

climbing over stairs to reach the middle of the island

And there we saw the real beauty of it!

Seriously this island is amazingly breathtaking!

After all that fun at Pulau Dayang Bunting. We now head to our second stop eagle feeding session. Lots of eagle wandering around this area.

Eagle feeding..

Just posing, not driving it..

Our souvenir of the trip : a plate with our photograph attached to it(RM10 Each)

Pulau besar basah (View from its jetty)

Very fine sand with lots of coral here!
At Pulau Beras Basah you can find a small hut selling you drinks, beers & some snacks. There are also a place to rent some snorkeling gears. but BEWARE! on low tide do not take the risk to get into the waters, the murky sea water(caused on stepping on the sea floor) will make vision blur and you may actually step on corals which are EXTREMELY sharp. I Got my self some cuts at few place just stepping into it. But i managed to get out of it before its too late. haha.

Chilling outside of our hotel room
After all the day long island hopping, we went back to our hotel for a shower & prepared BBQ item for the night as we were celebrating one of our friend yoga's birthday. If you are planning for a BBQ Party, do get your stuff early in the morning at any market, as when night falls its hard to find fresh chicken!

Sarawak Food (Kuching) Jun2011 Trip Part 1

Finally! i went to the island of borneo! Proud to say after 23 years i went to east Malaysia for the first time. It was an exciting journey as i do not know anyone there and guided by my research & GPS. Flight was at 12pm, so i headed to KL Sentral to pick up on a High Speed Train to LCCT. Had my quick breakfast @Subway and im off! The journey somehow got delayed slightly, leaving me very little time to hang around LCCT. at 12.10 im off! Flight was terrible as we experienced some turbulence on its way.

At about 2.00pm i reached the KCH airport. And this blog post is all about KUCHING & Its FOOD!

Lunch Spot (Chinese BBQ Specialist)
What i had here? There you go:
Chicken Rice + Pork + Duck RM5

Original KOLO mee from Sarawak RM3.50

Dumpling Soup RM3
I taste really really good! and it was cheap too! The portion was generous & the dumpling was really good!
I really loved the food here! and came here twice for lunch!
Jawa Mee @RM5 (AYAM PENYET RK RESTAURANT)
This is a version of JAWA Mee from sarawak, They even dip in some satay on the dish. Nothing big to shout, i guess the gravy is too thick & rich. Not into my liking.
Ayam Penyat @RM7 (AYAM PENYET RK RESTAURANT)
Well, i have never eaten ayam penyet before, and always wondering how does it taste like....i tell u , this ayam penyet was bad! big time failure dish! It was a chicken leg fried & smashed on to a hot pan(making the burn marks) Nothing to shout about the taste, atleast it was edible. saw the chunk of cabbage & some leaves? how on earth so you eat the rock hard cabbage? Some chili souce & lousy soup + fried snack(dont know what's it name) totally not worth the price paid.

Next is KUEH CHAP, This dish is a famous one here, they usually consume it in the morning for breakfast. Searching for local breakfast i found this stall here:
Famous Kueh Chap stall @Jalan Abell

Kueh Chap (RM4/each)
It is basically, some kueh teow, Hard boiled eggs, pork meat & spare-parts with "Bak kut teh" like soup. Very delicious! i loved this meal, but in semenanjung its almost impossible to find.

The spareparts & ingredient used.
Stay tuned for SARAWAK FOOD Part 2!! Coming Soon! with more exciting reviews!
